Beneath the Surface

Sunday 6th March, 2.30pm at the lake in Lordship Rec
Entrances: Lordship Lane/Higham Road/Walpole Road, Tottenham N17, refreshments in playground building.
To celebrate the restoration of the lake island in Lordship Rec Beneath the Surface is a live shadow show about a small boy who dreams that he enters a picture of a pond and shrinks to the size of an insect. Dazzled by beautiful microscopic creatures and terrified by water scorpions he escapes on the back of a great crested newt.
The friends of Lordship Rec received a Community Spaces Lottery grant to restore the island in the lake in Lordship Rec and to extend the island to create a better habitat for the wildlife that lives in and on the lake. In the future we will continue to work with local volunteers to maintain the lake and to keep it healthy and clean.
