In September 2005, a festival marked the opening of three new play facilities in Lordship Rec:
- A freestyle skateboard/BMX area
- A multi-use games area for football and basketball which was recently refurbished.
The Broadwater Community Centre is a base for youth football teams who use the field in the Rec for matches.
