Friends of Lordship Rec monthly open meeting for all park users @ Lordship Hub N17 6NU
Come along to discuss latest news about the Rec, community events and volunteering to help maintain and improve the park, and how you may be able to get involved if you wish (eg in our working groups for the woodland, orchard, lake, river, litterpicking, organising events and publicity etc).

Our first event of 2025:
Lordship Wassail: Sunday 12th January, 2pm-5pm
In the Orchard and Hub, Lordship Rec
Traditional Ceremony for a good Harvest – a fun-filled afternoon of activities, music, and community spirit. Enjoy mulled cider, hot sorrel (non-alcoholic), and homemade appley bakes. Bring pots to bang and cash for drink and cake donations. We are collecting cash donations for Haringey Migrant Centre, supporting vulnerable and marginalised local residents.
- 2:00 pm: Lantern making, face painting, and wreath weaving in The Hub.
- 3:00 pm: Assemble outside The Hub.
- 3:15 pm: Procession to The Orchard.
- 3:30 pm: Toast and sing around ‘Max’ the Wassail tree with members of the Tottenham Community Choir.
- 3:50 pm: Children hang ‘toast’ (fertility symbol) on apple tree branches.
- 4:00 pm: Return to The Hub for warming refreshments, singing (with Hackney Songworks), storytelling, and live music.
- 4:45 pm: Event close.
