Lordship Hub Co-op AGM and open day

If you would like to know how the Hub is doing and what plans there are for the future or if you would like to be part of that future you are very welcome to attend Lordship Hub AGM at the Hub from 2pm on Saturday 23rd March.
There will also be some free class taster sessions from 11am.
Also there will be a street art workshop for young people ( £7 for your own board and paint) starting at 12.

Grafting, Pruning and Introduction to Forest Gardening

The Hub (by the Lake), Lordship Recreation Ground, Higham road, N17 6NU

Meet at 9.45am at The Hub. Come for the whole, or just half the day.
10 – 12.30  Grafting and Pruning
1.15 – 5  Introduction to Forest Gardening (with a focus on the
Lordship Rec Orchard)
Bring a packed lunch, or lunch to share or buy from the Hub Cafe.

It is hoped that participants will contribute something according to their current means and whether they come for half day or whole ( adjust accordingly): e.g. whole day suggested fees for salaried high earner/salaried low earner/ unemployed or other:

£20/30+ depending on earnings
£10/15 low waged
£5/10  unemployed/ on benefits

The orchard in lordship rec is being developed using forest garden principles and it is hoped that some people who attend will be local people who can use the knowledge gained to help with the ongoing development of the orchard, if they wish to. However, it’s not restricted to local people, all welcome.

Tutors will be Michelle Lawson, professional gardener who also attended the Urban Orchard Management course and is keen to share grafting skills; and Marina O’Connell, organic fruit grower and permaculture tutor from The Apricot Centre.

You will go home with a young apple tree in a pot, so please bring something to carry it in.

Tree planting in Lordship Rec Orchard

All tools (and Trees!) provided, no experience needed, all welcome. We will be planting Greengage trees, and possibly some Damsons, as the beginning of a

January 19th, WASSAIL!

WASSAIL!  fun for all the family in this traditional English celebration of fruit trees in the Lordship Rec Orchard and later in the Hub.
Saturday 19 Jan 3.30 – 5.30. Meet outside The Hub at 3.30. Live music,
singing, story telling, tree decorating, mulled cider, hot sorrel, apple cake – and more! FREE (with a collection for North London Action
for the Homeless).

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year

Xmas festivities at the Hub

Visit the Hub on Saturday December 8th, 1-4pm for Santa and his wishing tree, live music from local musicians, Xmas wreath-making workshops at 12-1pm and 2-3pm and some stalls and face painting.

Friends of Lordship Rec Meeting
