Tottenham Flower and Produce Show 2021

Saturday September 11thin the Rec

The Friends and partners want to put on the best ever Tottenham Flower and Produce Show. After the last 15 months of the pandemic we need some community fun!

We have been unable to raise enough funds due to the high number of worthy funding applications this year for scant resources so we need reluctantly to come to you, our Lordship Rec community for financial donations.

If you would like to donate please give to our Just Giving page at:

Getting involved with the Friends and the Hub:

20 years of the Friends – Timeline!

FLR Timeline first 20 yrs

Click on this link above to see how Lordship Rec has been transformed by 20 years of community action, 2001 – 2021. This has included organising festivals, public consultation, supporting and developing specialist user groups and activities, a wide range of volunteering and fundraising efforts, managing parts of the park, running improvement projects, continuous partnership with the parks service, opening the Lordship Hub, and much more! Also actively supporting the coordination and empowerment of the Friends Groups’ movement in Haringey, London and nationally.

Build a picture of Lordship Rec Biodiversity

There is a phone app available, iNaturalist (https://www.inaturalist.org/) , that allows you to identify and post information and photos of wildflowers, trees and wildlife in your local green space. Get involved and, by using it, we can together build up a picture of the biodiversity of Lordship Rec. This is the specific Lordship Rec part of the site.

People Need Parks and Friends Anniversary

The Friends of Lordship Rec are 20yrs old in June this year. For the past 20 years we have grown our membership and active volunteering and totally transformed our park from the neglected, anti-social wilderness it was in 2001 to the vibrant, popular and loved park it is today with its beautiful river, orchard, meadows, increased biodiversity, cycling and exercise facilities and its fantastic community building, Lordship Hub.

On 26th June (Covid restrictions permitting) from 1-5pm, we are co-organising with the Council a large community festival in the Rec called People Need Parks, which will include sports activities, dance and music performance, food and drink, children’s activities and pony rides, nature walks and stalls and workshops.

Put the date in your diary!

Lordship Hub and Park Volunteers Picnic, Sunday 6th June, 12-4pm

At the back of the Hub.

To coincide with national Volunteers Week we will be celebrating the voluntary efforts of those who help make the Hub and the Park such great community spaces. The Hub depends on a range of fantastic people contributing their time in all kinds of ways – for the cafe, office, and Board, and helping with activities and publicity. As we prepare for full re-opening soon let’s take a moment to get together to appreciate each other and enjoy one another’s company.

This month is also the 20th Anniversary of the Friends of Lordship Rec [50 park users attended the launch meeting in the Broadwater Community Centre on June 11th 2001]. So we will hold a short session during the picnic (2-3pm) to note the occasion!

All volunteers welcome – you are invited to bring some food to share.

Called by the Lordship Hub Co-operative – contact kate@lordshiphub.org.uk . Supported by the Friends of Lordship Rec

  • Here’s the report of our April meeting:   FLR Mins 9th May 21 pdf
  • We will also be celebrating our 20th anniversary by supporting a major People Need Parks event with activities all over the Rec on Saturday June 26th.
